It is no secret that there are a great many bullets for a pneumatic weapon with a rifled barrel. Therefore, we will try to consider the main criteria for selecting ammunition, depending on the basic parameters of the rifle complex: a rifle or pistol, the nature of the target and the skills of the shooter.

Shooting can be divided into entertaining, sports (including sports and applied) and hunting (in those regions where hunting with air guns is allowed). Entertaining shooting allows you to use all types of bullets: lightweight "caps", balls of lead or similar alloy, pointed pellets, with a flat head (flat head pellets, wadcutter), with a rounded head (domed pellets), although preference usually it is given to the latter, as having the highest accuracy, especially at large distances for pneumatics (up to 50-100 m in caliber 4.5 mm). It should be noted that the penetration capacity for bullets of the same mass depends more on the hardness of the alloy than on the shape of the head, although bullets with a flat head leave neater holes in the paper, and when hunting, a bullet with a flat head or having an expansive cavity ( notch), at a small distance allows you to get a larger cross-sectional area of the wound channel, although it loses in accuracy with bullets with a rounded head.

For sports shooting in Olympic types (shooting at 10 m) only bullets with a flat head are used, since at such a distance for high-quality bullets, the deviation in the trajectory is extremely small, and every tenth millimeter of the hole can play a decisive role in scoring. For sports and applied disciplines, in which the maximum shooting distance is in the range of 50-100 m, external factors significantly influence the flight path of a flat-headed bullet, which makes the use of such bullets undesirable: shooting is carried out exclusively with bullets with a rounded head with the best aerodynamics.

The mass of a bullet plays a rather important role, since the initial speed of the bullet departure and its trajectory depend on it. The following is a common practice: light bullets (0.4-0.5 g) are usually used in pistols and low-powered rifles, medium-weight bullets (from 0.5 g to 0.6-0.65 g) are suitable for both powerful pistols, and for rifles with a shot energy of up to 25-27 J, heavy bullets (over 0.6 g) are used in magnum-class rifles with an energy of over 25 J. At the same time, different types of bullets on the trunks with different pitch of rifling have certain speed corridors at which their accuracy is maximum. Therefore, when choosing a bullet, one should take into account the fact that it is not always the maximum power that will provide at the same time better accuracy of hitting, which is what one of the rifle sayings says: “It’s better to fall weakly than to miss a powerful one”.

In the line of bullets produced by TM "Lyuman" there are available all types of bullets that any shooter may need. At the same time, the accuracy of the “Classic”, “Field Target” and “Energetic” bullet lines allows them to be used for all types of shooting, including applied sports and hunting, and the range of masses offered allows you to choose a bullet for any type of weapon, from a pistol to powerful rifles.
