The CZ plant (reads as "Česká Zbroyovka") is located in the Czech foothills of the Carpathians, the town of Uhersky Brod, a historic region - South Moravia. The prerequisites for the creation of the CZ company lay in 1918, when following the end of the First World War, during the collapse of Austria-Hungary, the Czechoslovak Republic was created, and the leadership of the young state was faced with the issue of arming its own army. To achieve this goal, several arms factories were created - “Zbroivka-Brno”, “Ceska-Zbroyovka-Strakonice” and “Skoda”. The key reading in the history of Česká Zbroyovka was July 1936, when CZ was established as a branch of Česká Zbroyovka-Strakonice factory, which in turn was part of Zbroyovka Brno. During the occupation of Czechoslovakia by Nazi troops during the Second World War, “CZ” was renamed “Bohmische Waffenwerke” - “Bohemian Arms Factory”. In 1947, after the end of the Second World War, when a significant part of Eastern Europe fell under the protectorate and control of the Soviet Union, the CZ factory was nationalized, after which production of army weapons, and in particular the Czech version of the Kalashnikov, began. In 1958, the plant was finally moved to the city of Uhersky Brod. During the existence of the plant from this period, the CZ product range has expanded significantly and today includes a wide range of airguns, smooth-bore guns, hunting and sport carbines and rifles (mainly with a rotary sliding bolt), as well as an army firearm. weapons (assault rifles, semi-automatic pistols, submachine guns), used by many armies. One of the reasons for the continued popularity of weapons from CZ, both in Europe and in the post-Soviet space, is the brilliant quality-cost relationship, which makes it possible to compete successfully and often bypass more eminent manufacturers from Western Europe and the USA. It should be noted that the model range of rifled carbines from the company “CZ” pleases with the choice of weapons in completely different calibers, and the number of options and models. It is quite obvious that it is not an easy task to familiarize yourself with all the hunting and sport carbines in one article. Therefore, we pay attention only to the basic models. Since the 2000s, CZ has also become the official supplier of small arms (CZ 805 carbines, CZ Scorpion EVO, P-09, P-07 pistols) in the army of several European and Middle Eastern countries.
